First clean sheet since league restart

Valencia CF's win against Osasuna was not just a return to victory for the team -and to goalscoring ways for Gonçalo Guedes. It also marked a defensive positive, as the team claimed a first clean sheet in 11 games.
The previous shutout for VCF came against Celta Vigo back on the opening day of February, in a 1-0 triumph at Mestalla.
Opposing sides in LaLiga have been kept from scoring on six occasions thus far in the 2019/20 campaign. The first was against Mallorca at Mestalla (1-0), followed by Athletic Club (0-1), Granada (2-0), Eibar (1-0), Celta Vigo (1-0) and Osasuna (1-0). Interestingly, Valencia CF have yet to feature in a goalless draw this term in league competition.
There are eight games remaining of the season, with a return fixture against Eibar next up on Thursday night. Some 24 points are still in play, and the top flight has proven to be as close as ever. Clean sheets will become more important than ever as the campaign reaches its conclusion, and could prove vital to Valencia CF's ambitions of Champions League football.
Coach Albert Celades said after the game against Levante that "We have conceded more than we would have liked. We have focused on defensive work, because if we want to be up near the top, it's the main thing to improve." The squad moved one step closer to that with their defensive display against Osasuna.
